Blum in, Nilsson out

Attacker Danny Blum moves to FCN on a free transfer from SV Sandhausen. Per Nilsson will leave 'Der Club' and sign for FC Copenhagen

1. FC Nürnberg have on Friday 23rd May 2014 secured another new arrival for the 2014/15 season with the signing of Danny Blum. The contract of the 23-year-old, who can also play on the wing in addition to up front, will join FCN on SV Sandhausen on 30th June 2014 and will therefore come to Sportpark Valznerweiher on a free transfer. Blum is the third acquisition for the coming season following Willi Evseev and Mike Ott.

“Danny is a player who had lots of offers from the Bundesliga and second division”, explained Martin Bader, head of Sport and Public Relations at 1. FC Nürnberg. “‘Der Club’ has tracked Danny Blum for a long time, therefore we are delighted that he has signed a contract here in Nürnberg  and will be part of the team to try and bounce back to the Bundesliga.”

“My first choice”

“‘Der Club’ was the best choice for me”, beamed Danny Blum about his transfer to FCN. “I have the ambition to be promoted with 1. FC Nürnberg. I’d like to do my bit to reach this goal.” Danny Blum, who has represented all of Germany’s youth sides from U-16 to U-20 level “did not have to think about it for a long time”. For him “’Der Club’ was the right step for me for playing football”, said Blum.

Danny Blum made 19 second-division appearances for SV Sandhausen in the recent season and scored four goals. He won promotion to the second tier with Karlsruher SC in the 2012/13 season.

Per Nilsson to FC Copenhagen

Per Nilsson will leave ‘Der Club’. The 31-year-old, whose contract expired after relegation, could not agree on a new contract with 1. FC Nürnberg. The defender will sign for Danish League side FC Copenhagen.
